We're so glad that you are here!
Get ready to slow down your rate of speech so that your audiences can understand you. As you already know, if your audience can’t understand you because you speak too quickly, how can you make your points, be influential or even be trustworthy? That's what this course is going to help you do…slow down, sound more relaxed and be understandable. You'll have so much more impact, too!
Before you start, be sure to complete “Getting Started” to set goals and prepare for your course.
How to Slow Your Rate of Speech
The rate of speech that we speak at is highly individual. Second language learners often speak the new language at the same rate they adopted in their first language. Given that there are some language errors present, speaking at a slower rate of speech with increase your chances of being better understood. In this lesson, you will be spending time becoming aware of different rates of speech, and making a recording of your own speech to determine your rate.
