Elevate Your Brand

Have you seen this video that depicts the elevation and demotion of popular brands over 7 years?  It’s a fascinating visual of brand changes for familiar large organizations.  Take a look at this video:

I couldn’t help but think of our personal brand that includes your speech, language and voice–your sound.  Becoming the very best version of yourself requires a thoughtful plan that requires intentional effort.  Just like these companies had to work at achieving elevation in the ranks, so too, can you achieve a speech and voice brand that elevates you to the top of your organization.

Here are some examples of people who improved their status by improving their sound. I’ll go to the movies and famous people to give you specific examples:

Margaret Thatcher decreased her pitch to be less shrill and more relaxed.  She became much more powerful, effective and influential.

Bradley Cooper spent a lot of time developing an accent for the film, “A Star is Born.”

The King’s Speech is a story of King George VI who overcame a stutter.

Most TV news broadcaster also go through voice coaching to change their style and sound to be more neutral. They learn to eliminate a regional accent, develop sharp consonant production and slow down.  (Interestingly, radio broadcasters aren’t as neutral.  Listen to NPR and you’ll hear voices that quite frankly, are very distracting.)

If you are looking to elevate your brand, have you considered changing the way that  you sound? My book will help you get started with awareness of the speech, language and voice characteristics that contribute to your brand. Learn and master them.Voice Branding For Executive Leaders
